The Fear of the Lord

MEDITATE: FEAR vs FEAR
Gen 36:6-8

With success comes potential compromise. Compromise leads to an ungodly lifestyle. And ungodly lifestyle distance us from God.

When we lose our godly morality, we lose character, we lose ascendancy, we lose success.

WARNING: Prov 29:25
Fear of man is a trap. It immobilizes us. It makes live in fear.

v.9
"I fear God"
The remedy of fear of man
Essential and vital to success

v.10
Character is the key. And the character comes from acknowledging that there is greater fear than man.

The fear of the Lord knows that God sees anything and everything.

When you don't think that God is seeing you in the midst of doing an ungodly thing or sin, it's a dangerous place. Because if you believe that God doesn't see you in a bad place, you won't have faith that He sees you when you're in trouble.

v.11-19
Sometimes the only way out is to run... even if you are judged wrongly?

Do you have enough fear of God to willing run away and be wrongly judged... believing staying out from this potential trouble is the only way out?

v.20
Joseph was with the King's prisoners - here is another set up from the Lord

the answer to some of the shakings in our life: God I will do what You want me to do.

Why does God wants to shake our fear of man or fear of situations, making a trap for other greater fears? The fear of the Lord brings:
1) Prov 9:10 - God's Wisdom
2) Ps 25:12 - Prudence and right decisions
3) Is 33:6 - Sure foundation of time; Stability

The stability to stand in the grace of God. The stability to always walk in confidence In God's Throne of Grace.

The more we understand the tension of shaking the fear of man, makes us learn the stability of the grace of God. And that over what situation, we will be stable as we reach God's destiny for our lives.

Ecc. 7.18
The grace of God and the fear of God

How can you live a life holding on to both of these truths?
If I can fear the God who loves me, then there's nothing to fear.
